Glad you are not randomly selecting pins to probe. My warning was based on the fact that any ohm meter provides voltage to measure resistance. Just didn't want you to blow an expensive component.

Have fun with your experiments. I sometimes try procedures on cars in the Junk yard befor trying them at home. Takes some time, but the price is right. I am also carefull not to damage items other than what I am interested in. Wish others had the same respect for those who come behind them looking for parts. I have seen many good parts ruined by someone just ripping them out of the way.
