I question whether the "single" euro light assemble for the early car is a better solution for "lighting or cost" than using the cibie or hella quad lamp system. Both the Cibie and the Hella are E-code lights. They have the e-code beam pattern, they are a metal housing/reflector, glass lens and they except any of the H-4/H-1 bulbs that are available. They are available at many US sources and they are less expensive than the single euro lamp. Personally, I feel they are better looking than the "early 7-series" single e-code light. Now the later 900 series single is a different story but it is a different light altogether.

Think about it this way, with the single E-codes, you can have 260watts maximum total light available (two lamps with 130 watt high beam, using 90/130 H-4 bulbs), where as the e-code quad lamps can have 460 watts (130 out of each Hi/Lo (90/130 H-4) and 100 out of each Hi 100 H-1)) and a greater range of lamp aiming. I usually splay the Hi/Lo lamps to the side a bit more than stock setting and then let the highs show you the distance. You can't do that with the singles. Personal opinion is expresed here, of course. Either way, make sure you upgrade your wiring using heavier gage wire and isolating relays.
