I'm trying to get my 1974 144 B20F running well. It runs on all cylinders now, but is very hard to start. Any suggestions on which order I should troubleshoot the injection system? I figured the auxiliary air valve would be a good place to start. Should point out that I have replaced all spark plugs and ditto cords, air filter and have replaced one bad injector. Have not checked injectors for flow uniformity, have not checked ignition timing. There is a light ticking sound so it seems a valve adjustment is in order, too. The distributor cap and points do not show much wear. The EGR tube from exhaust up to EGR valve is temprorarily disconnected.
