There is a picture (which I took) of a Garrett T25 in the FAQ; I looked at it just before I responded to your first post.
The Garrett T25 equipped cars have the same horsepower and performance ratings as the Mitsubishi equipped cars of the same vintage. The Garrett has a reputation for longer life and better materials.
Many brickboard members have used Herman at Cherry Turbos for rebuilds. New turbos are expensive, and a rebuilt unit should be fine. The next turbo I have rebuilt will be done by a small company in southern Oregon that has been in business for over ten years and has a good reputation. That particular firm charges $250 for the rebuild if no extra parts (like turbine wheels) are needed. If I were you I would look for a local firm who has been rebuilding turbos for a few years and is well established. Turbo modifications at overhaul are expensive. Go with a stock unit unless you want to spend some serious money.
