I have changed the heater core on my 97 V90. Not a fun job but quite posssible to do. The dealer techs hate that job It took me more than a weekend.I drove the car in the meantime with the complete ECC unit removed. Do you have instructions? I may be able to help with some hints. In the meantime of course you can always bypass the heater core.
