Clunk on Acceleration 700 1987

I had the same problem. I had worn axle bushings...four parts needed. Two c-shaped rubber bushings on each side.

Every time you accelerate from stop the whole axle rotates and something on the assembly comes into contact with another compenent (I never did really find out where is was hitting).

I found that it happened in first and second gear but after that I could not get it to grab enough to torque the axle.
