I have a '92 740T Automatic Wagon(138,000M) which had been running great since I bought it 3 months ago. Then it started to lose power and hesitate upon acceleration, and the Turbo was not kicking in. I replaced the Fuel Pump Relay and thought it was fixed, but started to do the same, plus cutting off at 40MPH. It would restart and it would run fine for about 2-3 miles and then continue to do the same. I checked the Brickboard and the 700/900 FAQ and everything pointed to the Fuel Pressure Regulator(FCP Groton $37). Installed it today and my Brick is Back!
