Looking in Volvo parts book - I have no personal experience with 740s.

100 amp alternator is listed for B230FT cars (700 Series and 900) 1987 - 1990. Nippondenso, not Bosch.

100 amp alternator is listed for B230F cars (700 Series and 900) 1992 - 1993. Nippondenso, not Bosch.

100 map Bosch shows for 700s and 940s B230F 1994+ , p/n change so is different somehow.
Also on some B234F cars. 1989-1991


Look in your local boneyards, put in a wanna buy in Classifieds, surf eBay.
