940 sedan and wagon bumpers

When mounting a frame-mounted hitch on 745s, I've had to cut the plastic guard (an air foil?) below the bumper. The installation instructions called for that, or simply removing that plastic piece entirely. Not sure about the 940s, though i doubt you'd have to comprimise the bumper's integrity in any way for proper installation of the proper hitch.
