Here in the UK there seem to be vacancies for town-planning jobs that require no experience other than the imagination to design more and more annoying speed-cutting devices.
So, as I rode carefully over the 20 speed-humps that separate me from my local supermarket, I noticed a clonking coming from my front left-side when the front wheels came off the hump (the point of highest stress on the suspension). This never used to happen so perhaps there is a failure in the suspension. The noise does not happen when I go very carefully over the hump, nor does it happen when the wheels hit the beginning of the hump, only coming off it.
Question is, is it likely to be shock-related or spring-related or something else? Are there visible failures that I could spot by checking under there with a flashlight?
Sorry not to have discovered how to cope with this myself, but you guys always have the answers. Thanks.
Tom
