Your outboard steering rods can do this also on a 122.
Get your head under the front of the car and watch the steering
linkage while an associate (wife.mil, for example) rapidly turns the
steering wheel through a 60-90° arc and you'll be able to feel, see and
maybe hear where the problem is.
