most problems with 164 motor was timing chain,(will sound like bottom end is coming apart)some have had soft cam shafts...and worn badly. dist shaft is worn.
biggest problems with 164 was GROUND!!!! at any electrical connection. in the fuse box, at the battery. you dont say if it wont turn over, not start, or not run.....ivew owned 4 of these and they still puzzel me.
