central locking question 700

Hey guys, this place has been a great help!
I am wondering how the central locking is wired... during my bad ground problem I buggered my central locking, when the relay is installed and the lock is engaged I get a buzzing from the drivers side rear door and no action from any other doors, including trunk. so I am thinking that I burned that one out.
My question is, are these hooked in series? would one bad locking modual prevent the others from working?
I have a spare modual, but am wondering if replacing the buzzing one will make a difference...
