What is this hose called?

Hi,

I think I have found why my Check Engine light is on. I popped the hood and note that the long metallic, segmented hose that runs from the manifold to under the air filter has split in half and is thus unconnected.

Questions...forgive their idiocy, but I'm not mechanically inclined at all:

1. What is this hose called?

2. Can I drive with the hose broken? How expensive is a new one (I ca't price it till I know what it's called)? Is it easy to replace?

3, How do i reset my idiot light so that it goes off? I have located the small housing in which the test lights are, but am not sure what to do.

thanks, mike
