I have to add that using higher wattage bulbs than 55/60 W in H4 units is illegal in Europe. You are, however, allowed to use +50% types if they have the E-code on the fitting (Philips Vision Plus and Osram Silverstar). The +50% types also consume 55/60W, but xenon gas filling allowes for higher filament temperatures increasing efficiency, thereby increasing light-output.
