A *new* replacement dashboard would run quite a bit as it is, though ... that's where I see the cost really adding up.

An acquaintance picked up a theft-recovery Saab 900 at a salvage auction. Stolen was just the radio, but the dashboard was busted in the process, and the tab for replacing the two with new parts was over $2k.
