problems starting 200 1989

Turning the key to Position III (Start) and getting nothing almost always means a dead battery. Sometimes they can get so dead that the starter solenoid won't even click!

Jumper start it, or put a charger on it overnight, and see how it does.

Worst case scenario: Put a breaker bar and socket on the crank bolt (remove fan shroud and fan to gain access) and try turning the engine by hand. If you cannot, the pistons may have seized in the cylinders. Bummmer. I don't know of any way to fix that one.

Good Luck,

Bob
