Successful 140 engine swaps? 140-160

I think you'll find that the Ford 2.3T is dimensionally very close to a B23/230FT. No real gains there.

A 90 degree V-6 or V-8 will be a tight fit. Think 60 degree vees. Or narrower!

Wild ideas:

VW VR-6!

Chevy DOHC 3.4 V-6!

Buick Turbo 3800, or Pontiac Supercharged 3800!

It's all about the dollar, my friend.

OTOH, a quality rebuild of a B20, combined with the V-Performance Supercharger kit will push you back in your seat just as well as almost any V-6. Bottom line is the king. Yes, the B20SC isn't quite cheap, but it fits with no mods. Creating custom motor mounts and doing wiring for any EFI engine will consume gobs of time, money, or both.

For a low-buck idea, perhaps a Buick 3.8 carbureted might be a (relatively) easy thing to do. Low-tech, but much easier than an EFI swap.

It's your car, your time, & your money.

If you're willing and able, try whatever suits your fancy!
