seized clutch 140-160

I'll 3rd George... I have seen a few of these... The deal is warm up the engine well... Just put it in neutral and warm it up ... Do what you need to do to point the car safe some direction and do what he said..

Once I had a car that refused this treatment... It just called for harsher poundin against a tree... Since it was all warmed up I tied a few dead tires to a large tree, and with the clutch in, and dragging the brake drove head long into the tree, and began to throttle up... I burnt a bit of rubber, so as to not stall the engine, and the clutch came around to my way of thinking.

Oddly every car i ever pulled these stunts on was a normal working clutch there after, and at no time was any damage done.

You can stall the engine with the brakes and or shut it off with the key anytime. It is a good ised to keep you thinking in gear at the time as this proceadure is not common enough to get used to doing, and things seem to happen fast.

The lurching is a bit scarey at first. I have driven Volvo's with no hydralics left in the clutch system to the shop and even to home a few times. I have learned to shift with no clutch up and down with no grinding. That was easier in the older cars with a long shifter however to learn on.

It is the same deal almost as you must have a warmed engine to lurch start. Mac
