HELP! Possibly stranded in D.C. 700 1990

I'm sorry, George, I don't fully understand.

What about the cooling system? If it was low, or high, how would this affect idle & driving performance?

Am I to suspect that the heater/idle/performance issues are unrelated - even though they surfaced at the exact same time? If so, please let me know what I should look at in order of priority and likelihood.
