Battery cutoff switch - good idea?

Thanks for the recommendation. I also tire of unscrewing and rescrewing the negative battery cable. I'm also wondering if I've tightened the connector too little or too much.

When reconnecting the cable, I wait for the spark as the connector touches the battery terminal followed by a fireball in my face. I assume that only happens if you don't "air out" the engine compartment of any gas produced by the battery.
