When I watched my Volvo tech - tall Swede with the right accent and 30 years Volvo experience - dab anti-sieze on each stud after a job, I started doing the same thing.

Never a problem. Wheels are 240Gl Corona style, Torqued to 82 lb-ft, and I watch and pester the Discount Tire guys every time.
