940 vs 240??? 200 1986


I agree there is something appealing about the "uncivilized" nature of a 240! They are more communicative than either a 740 or a 940. Reminds me a little of the BMW 2002 I used to own.

Don't know about the ECU's. Since the 740's had a manual tranny I would think that you could convert a 940 to a manual. Someone here must know how to do it.

My 240 is the first car I have ever owned with a "slushbox". Although I would prefer a stick, the AW70/71 are great trannies - no complaints...They work well in the 240's/940's. You might consider trying one out.

I still prefer a manual in a BMW, VW or other sporty car....
