Strange Tachometer problem

I agree with Bob.... sounds like a connector is on a wrong tab or a plug is not properly seated. The dim bulb implies a bad or missing ground.

I used a large tach (and small clock and voltmeter) transplanted from my dead '82 into my '90, and it works just great -- bulbs and all.
