I think he means a hydraulic press... using a hydraulic jack to apply force to the bushing and the bar ends. Still you'd need the right size socket or round bar stock to push things through... I'd bet you can do it with a large vise (6" or so) and a full set of 1/2 inch drive deep sockets.
Lube the bushings with PB Blaster to get them to slide.
ALternately, do what many shops do: burn out the old bushings with a torch, wire brush the end of the rods and then press in the new ones.
