I think I will need to replace some valves. Why do you say intake valves are probably bent? I am a pretty competent mechanic having owned two Pontiac Grand Ams, One Chevy Truck, and a Nissan Pulsar. I am not at all unfamiliar with a vehicles innards! I don't think the head will need to be sent to a machine shop. I plan to do the work myself. I can have the valves in two days (intake or exhaust). I know I will need a new head gasket, valve cover gasket, exhaust gasket and intake gasket. I plan to replace the cam shaft seals as well.
