idiot lighs don't light up

Here's what I would look for and the assumptions:

Warning lights not coming on = exciter wire to alternator not connected.

Exciter wire disconnected = no charging = dead battery.

Solution:

1. Get the battery on a charger. Attempting to charge a totally dead battery with just the alternator can be beyond the alternator capacity and can damage it.

2. The exciter wire on a 240 is a thin red one (there's a fat red one, too).
On your car it might be the same. Have a look at the back of the alternator. Look for it, connected to a spade lug. Wiggle it and make sure it is well connected.

3. Try the car again, if not fixed, post back with what it did, more help will come.

Good Luck,

Bob
