The one up above (blue arrow?) is the gauge sender. The one below is the knock sensor or used to be... It looks kinda rough in the picture.
First (and last) time I replaced a gauge sender in a 900 I was immediately disappointed it had such a large connector that I couldn't use a socket, like on the 240 senders. Next I noticed I could not get an open end wrench on it usefully without removing the knock sensor.
Neither will spew oil, and if you have the new gauge sender in your hand ready, you won't lose enough coolant to bother replacing it. Take note of the torque needed to loosen the knock sensor and try to apply the same reinstalling it.
