In all likely hood, you have a bad intake manifold gasket. It is leaking by cylinder #1 causing it to be lean enough to not fire at idle. As soon as the intake air volume increases the small leak becomes insignificant and the car runs OK. I'll bet your codes are P0301 and/or P0172.
I though by the time that the S/V90s were made, the gasket had been revised to the better greenish/aluminum one and not the redish/orange one? Is it possible the manifold is loose on the head?
