piston pin offset 140-160

In the short time i have been enjoying the Board i have not noticed any discussion on piston pin offset. My understanding of it is to reduce piston slap by keeping thrust side against cylinder wall as against symetrical piston free to go either way. Maybe some of you gurus can add more input for the benefit of enthusiasts from other fields of skills who would like to learn more about engines. Also are 140 pistons offset?, i dont have spare to check, it occured to me doing research for stroke and bore using mitsu rods and pistons which are offset. Regards Jack McIntyre.
