Question about 940 turbo

Here's a pic of that neighborhood:



The oil filter extension is water cooled - those rubber hoses are coolant hoses. That brass nipple is the engine block coolant drain. The metal pipe that crosses in front of the filter is the turbo oil return line.

When changing your oil & filter, you don't need to fuss with any of that other stuff.

Just FYI - in that photo, you do see evidence of 2 common "need to watch" maintenance items:

+ the rubber hoses get rotten from oil spilling on them when the filter is removed... replace if they look pooky.

+ the turbo oil return line/block junction is a common oil leak spot... witness the shiny oil on the block. There's an o-ring on the end of the tube that can be replaced to fix this.
