Are these Black Walnut or Anguish Walnut shells?
I seriously doubt you'll get much in the way of metal dust
but you might get paint, dirt, carbon, etc.
One outfit I know went to using a blast media composed of the
punchouts from the manufacture of clothing buttons. They said
it worked pretty well.
