screwed by the USPS 120-130

Hi everyone,
Just throwing this out here in case anyone has any ideas. I recently picked up a basket case 122 and have been going back and forth with DMV getting all the paperwork done to register it. ( there was more than one name on the title) Over the intervening time I have been restoring it. ( I know, i know... i never should have touched it till the beurocracy was apeased) Well i finaly got all the paperwork together, sent it to DMV via Certified mail, and the post office went ahead and lost it. Wasn't that nice of them.... yeah, i thought so too. Well now the plot thickens. I'm without a title and the original title holder has passed away. DMV tells me i have to find the titleholder's next of kin, and have them file for duplicate title. (Yeah right, i can see it now, "HI.. i got your name out of the phonebook....is your dad dead? He is! did he have a Volvo? He did! Can I possibly get you to go down to the DMV and do some paperwork for me?) So, sorry to take up so much space, but there is my story, I have a partialy restored 122 that i can't register, and would hate to junk. Anyone have any ideas on dealing with the DMV? Or have a junker 120 series with a registerable VIN that they want to sell?
