Yes I've seen a crashed Volvo. I was in one about 4 years ago when I was hit in my '79 245DL by a Civic running a red at 50mph at the front left. And those engine mounts properly sheered, allowing the engine to move independent of the chassis. The engine crossmember was pushed further back than the engine was. If it didn't, there would've been more than the 1/4" the firewall (and center console) intrusion.

FWIW, the front end of the car was shorter by 18" and right fender stuck out nearly 2 feet.

As for the GT braces ... I belive they have holes in 'em that allow them to collapse when hit.

Look - none of us are really here to pick a fight. But these are our opinions on your design here ...
