String and a stick will do it. 200

Don,

I've done this three times after rebuilding the seat bottoms in my 240s.

I used some cord and a 12" stick. Make a loop (circle) of cord about a foot or so long (when doubled). Tie one end to the middle of the stick, which is your pulling handle. The other end of the loop gets hooked on the free end of the spring and routed so the spring is pulled in the right direction. By using your legs to hold the seat you can generate quite a bit of force with both hands and your back.

Regards,

Mike
