I just bought an instrument cluster off ebay to deal with the same clock issue. The cluster appears to be easy to remove and , I hope, install. Only the cluster need be removed so it should be easy work not involving much else. Other than that, I have used the fuse-pull method. While I'm in there I want to deal with the serevice light issue too. I think I will put in an accessible switch to reset it.
