Yah, I think I'll just go with the sheet-metal screws and keep an eye on them. I don't plan on taking 'er through any rally races and jumps any time soon... so they shouldn't vibrate loose too soon!... ;-)

I mainly just didn't want to hear that it was too weak a method of attachement.
