stall, no start 700 1987

Stupid stuff first:
1. gas in tank?
2. check fuses
3. plug a plug and ground it away from the hole. have someone crank engine.
is there a spark? do you smell gas?
4. timing belt o.k.?

could be lots of things, you may not be able to fix at the beach.
