Mercury Sable web site???

Back when I had a Taurus, I found an owner site by searching the web using words like "taurus problems", "Ford repair", and "Ford forum". Some of the resulting hits were mostly complaint sites. There are some for repair and upgrading though. My son found a good one for his Mustang. Just do a search until you find what you want. That's how I found the Brickboard for my Volvo.

There is also a site called "The Blue Oval News". Try a search on Blue Oval.

Sorry to hear you're having a transmission problem. The forward piston in many of the Ford automatics is aluminum and gets concentric cracks in it. I've seen photos of these. Rebuilders often use a steel piston when replacing this item. Ford has a long history of selling cars with well known defects apparently reasoning that it was more profitable to sell defective cars than to correct the defects. This may have been Jacques Nasser's philosophy. He's gone as CEO so maybe Ford will improve. I was happy to get rid of my Taurus which had three head gasket replacements in the first 80,000 miles (3.8 liter engine).

Good luck on your Sable.
