Since I am cheap I am going to try and find a used fuel pump assembly. It looks like removing the fuel pump will be a very tight squeeze.
Using a test light grounded and shoved into the power wire at the last harness before going into the pump - the light comes on at KPII. There is continuity between this last connection and the final wires into the tank. Using a very fine needle through the power wire before the tank and connected to a grounded test light the light lights at KPII (hence my need for liquid electrical tape). Inside the tank the wires look intact and feel firmly attached, I am hestitant to use a test light inside the tank as well as a multimeter - none of which would work anyway since the battery would be disconnected when I have the fuel tank open. Anyway, I am going to replace the pump.
