Need radio security code. - STUCK 900

I persuaded a dealer to give me the 6 digit code.

Apparently, he thought it was a simple process to key it in.

By partially entering, not properly restarting, and continuing to try to enter the code, I have arrived at the situation where the panel reads OFF.

I tried disconnecting the battery and retrying. Stuck.

What is the actual process required to enter a radio security code?
