The reason for no ridge is.......

but there is no BIG ridge to be felt at the tops of the cylinders.

Somewhere, maybe this board, I licked up that the composition of the cast iron in a red block has a higher-than-usual nickel content. That should make for a harder metal, thus no ridge.

Wonder if the honing process will take longer? Need harder stones?
