The DASTARDLY DEED is DID ....

Well, Friday we took the new cam, rear seal and lifters that I had forgotten when we delivered the block to the machine shop. While we were there, they checked the bores and pronounced that they had "minimal taper". Looks like we will get away with just a hone job. This will be confirmed Monday after total disassembly and a more thorough check of the parts and pieces. Before any further work is done, they automatically magnaflux the block to check for cracks etc.. Latest word is that the engine should be ready to come home either Tuesday or Wednesday ... with a bit of luck I could be back on the road by the end of the week. Sure will be nice to have a truly healthy power plant .... I'm looking forward to more bottom end torque where it is usable.
