I bought a 1984 240 which was sold for next to nothing because it wouldn't start and low and behold the same problem you experienced existed with mine. I am glad these cars can sometimes be so easy to fix. I advise you to read this board often and get a manual. The people here are a true blessing when it comes to keeping these wonderful cars running strong. Everytime I see another one on the road regardless of the shape the body is in I feel a kinship that is unbelievable .
