How frustrating! If it weren't for the new crank sensor, I'd say start there. Did you know there was a TSB from Volvo on the '93 940 which told the dealer to open up all connectors (except the O2 connector) spray contact cleaner into the connector and then apply silicone grease to the terminals and reassemble?

Your problem sounds electrical and maybe this cleaning of connectors will help. Your plan to do the ground connections is a good idea too.

My Regina manual says the 1-3-2 code is set when the system voltage is lower than 8v or higher than 16v for more than 5 seconds after the engine is started. They say to check charging voltage while engine running.


Code 2-2-3 means the current through the ICV is either too high (shorted wire or IAC) or too low meaning a break in the circuit. My understanding is that this would give starting problems but I don't see how it would make it stall.

Are you sure the substitute fuel pump and suppressor relays are good?
