I've got the same problem on my 164, 1969. Duane Hoberg identified it as
a clogged jet, which I have not fixed as the car is usually driven in town
and has a 3.31 rear end so it rarely gets to the 75 mph where overdrive
puts the engine in its torque range. E-mail me offline and I can forward
you some tech literature he sent me.
