Hi--After trying glues with limited success, I just went and got a new (used) vent window. Works great--I use after market standard slide latches, so I don't even need to buy a window with the latch attached, making it cheaper! As you can see by the other posts, it seems we've all tried gluing, and it works--but only for a while. A new piece of glass with the top post attached is the way to go.
