Thanks for your thoughts. I'll recheck my records to see when the last transmission service was.

As I mentioned in a reply to an earlier response, I've monitored it over the last couple of days and I think it might need adjusting a bit. We live in a hilly area so I like the idea of slightly higher shift points because it helps the performance of the 4 cylinder engine a bit. However, I think mine may be just a bit too high. I noticed today that one of our other cars shifts from 1st to 2nd at about 10 to 15 mph and 2nd to 3rd at about 25 to 30. That would definitely make the Volvo shift points seem a bit high by comparison.

Thanks again for you help and, as you requested, I'll report back if I make any changes.
