Ouch! That hurts I expect...and you ain't got the cheap fuel we have over here in the states... I get about that in my overbored, hot rodded B20 with a pair of weber DCOEs, and I don't drive it all that conservatively. I have gotten as good as about 30mpg in town with my 1800 when I had it just right, but that only lasted a couple days.

I'd start by making sure the carb(s) is in good order, and running about as lean as you can get it while still having it run well. Of course, make certain the ignition system is spot on.

Basically, a good tune up. An emmission test might give you ideas as to what is causing most of the problem.

Make certain teh tyres are at proper pressure, that you don't have any dragging brakes, etc...
