AIRBOX THERMOSTAT....HOW DIFFICULT IS IT TO REPLACE??? 1986

My '86 sedan with 293K miles has never had the airbox thermostat or AMM replaced. Someone told me that if the thermostat fails then the AMM will soon be toast. I haven't had any problems but I'm one to prevent something big from failing by replacing something small first. How do I go about changing out the airbox stat????

Thanks.
